How did this get started?
At the start of her career in fashion and beauty, Cassandra Bradley began as a fashion model at the iconic Neiman Marcus in Dallas and ultimately continued to the fashion capitals of New York, Washington, D.C. and Paris.
As her interest in fashion deepened, she affiliated with the Washington, DC high-end fashion house Saks Jandel as a buyer and consultant (and model) with the opportunity to travel to Paris regularly during the twice-yearly “buying seasons.” She helped pick and separate the potential winners from the losers in anticipation of what the East Coast buyer would purchase next year.
Modeling opportunities continued and one of her most treasured memories was when Yves Saint Laurent on one occasion let her “open the show” (first model down the runway) on the “big stage” back in the day.
Life circumstances change directions, but the opportunity to more directly impact beauty and fashion in the DC area presented itself when she was granted admission to the Rene Guinot Institute in Paris from which she gained European training as an esthetician. Cassandra has subsequently completed many training/certification courses of instruction, including advanced work at the Rene Guinot Institute at their City Center location in New York, the Saint Laurent Institute in Paris, and Superior Waxing in Los Angeles.
She holds current certification as a “Master Esthetician by the State of Virginia where she practices. Similarly, Cassandra is licensed and an expert in massage therapy, offering a full massage practice, as well.
Professional History
Not long after her training in Paris, Cassandra began her esthetician work in Virginia at the upscale Fountains Day Spa, a fixture of the DC area beauty scene. She worked (and learned) there for 10 years before helping design, outfit and establish the popular Glam Day Spa on South Kings Highway where she served as Manager while providing esthetician services from 2005 to 2011.
Cassandra took on “brick and mortar” responsibilities in 2011 as she founded “Skincare by Cassandra” on West Street in Alexandria until the building was sold in 2017. She moved the business to her salon at 5902 Mount Eagle Drive where she practices today.
